Portrait X Automotive

After transitioning from portrait photography to automotive photography, I challenged myself to combine both disciplines into a single concept. Drawing inspiration from fashion editorials, I designed a photoshoot that placed a human subject and a car on equal visual footing. Using my friend as the model and my parents' car as the backdrop, I created a series of images that blended the elegance of portraiture with the bold presence of automotive design. Achieving balance between the two subjects was not easy. I carefully chose a three-quarter angle for the car to emphasize its form, then positioned the model in front to create a strong, layered composition. For posing, I referenced fashion magazine imagery and natural gestures, such as traveling with luggage or stepping into a new place. This project pushed me to think critically about visual hierarchy, styling, and storytelling—and became a turning point in how I approach photography as a cross-disciplinary tool.
